Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cody Paris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Avgolemono Magiritsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magiritsa has chosen ZORBA! as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cody Paris! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Avgolemono Magiritsa! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paris closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Paris lands in his opponent's guard. Magiritsa trying to control the position.
Paris makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Paris advances to half guard. Paris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Magiritsa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Paris is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Magiritsa can do anything to dispel that myth. Paris has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magiritsa is working to get back to half guard.
Magiritsa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Paris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Magiritsa keeps trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magiritsa wants to hold on but Paris pushes him away. Paris lands a big shot there that rocks Magiritsa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Paris connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Paris takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Magiritsa is bucking up trying to escape but Paris cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Magiritsa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Paris cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Magiritsa tries to hold on but Paris pushes him away. Paris controlling his opponent. Paris in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Magiritsa is bucking up trying to escape but Paris cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Paris is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Magiritsa can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Paris working away from the top, dropping strikes. Magiritsa tries to improve his position but Paris has taken his back! Paris has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Magiritsa tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Paris pushes Magiritsa away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Cody Paris! Cody Paris is the new welterweight champion! After the fight, Cody Paris was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. In defeat, Avgolemono Magiritsa stepped up to the mic, saying 'Σκατά στα μουτρα σου!'.
