Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Hughs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Hughs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Gregory Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughs swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Kingston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hughs throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hughs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kingston lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Hughs takes a swing at Kingston's ribcage but misses.
Kingston throws a series of punches but Hughs moves out of range.
Hughs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kingston moves away.
Hughs checks a leg kick.
It looked like Hughs was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Kingston.
Kingston throws a body shot but no joy.
Kingston dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kingston attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Kingston avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hughs throws a body punch but Kingston moves out of range.

This has been an exciting period of action!
A lull in the action here.
It looks like Kingston might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Hughs is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kingston has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Kingston sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kingston lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hughs hang on?
Kingston takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kingston tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hughs feinted there with a counter leg kick.

Kingston has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hughs looks to score with a jab to the body but Kingston is just out of range.

A close second round but Gregory Kingston will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Hughs throws a body punch but Kingston moves out of range.
As Hughs backs off Kingston throws a huge counter combo but Hughs manages to avoid it all.
Kingston slips a straight right by Hughs.
Kingston shoots in looking for a takedown but Hughs manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kingston's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hughs dodges the punch combination from Kingston.

Hughs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kingston moves away.
Gregory Kingston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kingston throws out a leg kick but Hughs moves out of range and Kingston only half commits.

Gregory Kingston has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kingston trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Hughs doesn't escape.
Kingston's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kingston is not going to allow Hughs to sit and survive in this position.
What can Hughs do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Kingston.
Hughs is trying to get back to his feet but Kingston has full control of the position and if anything, Hughs has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kingston controls the action.
Hughs trying to control the action but Kingston just sinks the hooks in.
Hughs is trying to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hughs is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Kingston gets his hands free as Hughs looks to control.
Kingston has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hughs's body.
Hughs trying to control but not successfully.

Gregory Kingston comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kingston has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Gregory Kingston decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
