These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyson Pearson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Solomon Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson slips a jab and a cross from Pearson.
Pearson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wilson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Wilson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pearson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wilson is in Pearson's guard.
Pearson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wilson is one step ahead there.

Pearson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wilson defends it easily.
Wilson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Wilson forces his way into half guard.

Wilson is trying to work for a kimura but Pearson is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wilson thows a huge punch but Pearson dodges it nicely.
Pearson tries to roll over but Wilson keeps him under control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilson lands with a punch from half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Wilson working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Wilson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Wilson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Pearson's coaches at Elite Strikers have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Wilson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Wilson is looking for a kimura but Pearson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wilson to get the leverage.
Wilson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wilson connects with a nice short shot to Pearson's temple.
Pearson wants to control but Wilson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Wilson is nestled in close to Pearson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Wilson is looking for a kimura here.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wilson connects with a nice short shot to Pearson's temple.
Wilson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pearson is concentrating on defense, preventing Wilson from advancing position.
Wilson winds up and cracks Pearson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


Pearson is rocked!

Wilson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Pearson is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Solomon Wilson!
