Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
21 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daario Naharis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reed Hightower!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hightower tests Naharis's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A left lands for Hightower.
Hightower looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hightower looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hightower misses with a right hand
and Naharis makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Naharis has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Naharis there as he acknowledges the shot.
Good exchange - Hightower coming out on top.
Hightower moves into range and connects with a jab.
Hightower throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Reed Hightower seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hightower shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Naharis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We've been hearing good reports from Naharis's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Naharis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hightower dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Naharis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Naharis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
No luck for Hightower with that takedown attempt.
Hightower scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Naharis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hightower, right into the meat.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hightower.
Hightower shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hightower won't allow Naharis to sweep him here.
Naharis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hightower manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Naharis wants to control from the top but Hightower keeps moving.
Naharis is looking to work some ground and pound but Hightower has wrist control.
Hightower has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Naharis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Naharis advances to half guard.
Naharis is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Reed Hightower dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hightower connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Naharis momentarily.
Naharis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The fighters circling - Hightower throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hightower just misses with a punch to the body.
Hightower throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A jab from Hightower does it's job there.
Hightower scores with a leg kick.
Hightower shoots for a double leg takedown but Naharis sprawls well. He's pushed Hightower's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hightower lands a nice looking body shot.
Hightower lands with a cross.
Hightower goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Daario Naharis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hightower swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Naharis counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Reed Hightower seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hightower throws a shot from downtown. Naharis moves away and avoids it.
Naharis drops down looking for a counter takedown but Hightower sprawls and moves away.
Naharis drops Hightower with a nice combination! Naharis dives into Hightower's guard, looking to finish!
Hightower is rocked!
It looks like Reed Hightower has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hightower can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Naharis controls the pace.
Hightower is still in real trouble! Can Naharis finish him?
Hightower working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Naharis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Naharis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Naharis gets to his feet and stands over Hightower, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hightower felt that one! Naharis unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hightower from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daario Naharis!
Daario Naharis spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
