Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Cack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lang is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Cemetary Gates. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Cack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Lang!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lang throws a leg kick but Cack sees it coming and checks it nicely.
No luck for Cack with that takedown attempt.

Lang gets a clinch.
Knees to the body from Lang.

Lang pulls guard successfully.
Lang looking to control.
Lang looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Cack drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lang manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cack has Lang in his guard.
Cack is breathing heavily.
Lang throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cack works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lang wants to pass the guard but Cack is keeping the position.
Lang missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Lang trying to control but Cack is working from the bottom.
Lang pushing down on Cack's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Lang not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lang tries to close the distance and clinch but Cack swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lang lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cack's sensitive parts.
Lang fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
No luck for Lang with that takedown attempt.
Lang will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Lang closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Lang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lang throws a wild body kick that Cack sees coming a mile off.

A head kick lands from Lang that sends Cack to the canvas. Cack tries to scramble back to his feet but Lang brings him back down into side control.


Cack is rocked!


It looks like Daniel Cack has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cack on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Oh Cack is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cack could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lang throws an elbow but Cack slips to the side and avoids it well.
Cack seems to have got his legs back now.
Cack regains half guard, as Lang was trying to land strikes.
Cack wants to control but Lang is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Lang lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

It looks like Lang is going to stand back up.

Lang seems to be working for a kimura but Cack defends the submission attempt.
Cack tries to roll over but Lang keeps him under control.
Lang is looking to advance position but Cack won't allow it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cack is looking for a sweep. Lang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Cack counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Cack looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Lang is defending against the submission attempts here by Cack.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lang regains full guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Cack's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Lang doesn't manage to clinch there - Cack circles away.

Lang throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Lang sneaks back into half guard.
Cack working over Lang with some ground and pound. Lang looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lang is looking for a sweep. Cack is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lang trying to hold on to Cack's head to control him but Cack postures up.

Cack looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lang looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Lang is pressing down on Cack's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Lang has his foot on Cack's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cack works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lang is looking for a triangle but Cack pushes his legs off easily.

Lang wants to get back to his feet but Cack is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cack content to stall in guard here.
Cack scoring with punches to the head and body.

Lang has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cack can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cack stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Cack doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Lang counters with a single leg into guard. Cack didn't expect that.

Cack working for a triangle but Lang defends it easily.
Lang stopping the sweep attempt from Cack.
Lang slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Lang decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Lang fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lang feints and then cracks Cack's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cack down.
Cack looks for a takedown but Lang sprawls well.
Cack avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lang lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cack circles away quickly and effectively.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Lang showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Cack circles away from the clinch attempt.
A head kick misses from Lang.
Lang looks for the body kick but Cack saw that one coming.

Cack feints and as Lang raises his hands in defense, Cack changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lang wants to sweep here but Cack controlling him for the moment.

Cack with a flurry of punches that miss.

Lang had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cack is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lang Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cack's back instead.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lang is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Cack breaks Lang's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Lang looking to control.
Cack trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lang lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cack!

Lang get's back to his feet.
Dave Lang is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

A punch combination from Cack misses.
Cack fails with a takedown attempt.
Daniel Cack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lang shoots in and drives through. Cack sprawls well.
Horrible takedown by Lang or perhaps it was just good defense by Cack which made him look bad.

Cack gets the takedown into side control.
Cack working the head and body with strikes.
Lang is trying to control Cack's posture but Cack avoids it.
Lang is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cack asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Dave Lang has got the better of the ground game so far.

Cack stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Cack has a takedown stuffed.
Lang throws a half hearted mid kick.
Lang lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cack circles away quickly and effectively.
Cack shoots in but Lang avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Cack. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lang rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cack moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cack misses with the body kick
and Lang counters with a big head kick but Cack shrugs it off.
Lang throws a low kick, looking for Cack's leg but Cack calmly moves out of range.
Lang stuffs the takedown attempt from Cack. Cack gets slowly back to his feet.
Cack shoots in and drives through. Lang sprawls well.
Nice body kick from Lang.

Cack scores with a takedown into Lang's guard.
Cack trying to control the position from guard on top but Lang is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cack is in close to Lang's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Cack postures up.
Daniel Cack has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Daniel Cack showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lang has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
