Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Esteban Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dustin Assad!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assad moves in looking to clinch but Dixon pushes him off.

Assad looking to score a takedown here. Dixon is defending well but Assad drives through and ends up in Dixon's guard.
Dixon managing to control the position.
Assad trying to control the position from guard on top but Dixon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dixon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dixon looking for a sweep. Not yet Dixon, not yet.
Dixon pulls Assad in close to prevent any damage.
Assad missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Assad pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dixon is keeping the position for now.
Assad advances position into side control!
Assad trying to control the action but Dixon is working from the bottom.
Assad tries to move into full mount but can't pass Dixon's legs.
Dixon regains half guard there - taking advantage of Assad's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Assad is keen to just control but Dixon is a slippery customer.
Dixon is positioning himself well to prevent Assad advancing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Assad is trying to control the action in half guard but Dixon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Assad thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dixon's head.
Dixon keeps control of the position for the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Assad has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Assad missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Dixon is trying to control but can't.
Assad throwing shots but Dixon is blocking nicely.

Assad is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dixon has managed to free his arm - good work.

Assad is keen to just control but Dixon is a slippery customer.

Assad seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Dixon is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
