Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Lapris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duane Carman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Lapris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carlos Lapris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Duane Carman! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lapris takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Carman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lapris shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carman's guard. Lapris keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carman's head. Carman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lapris controls the pace. Lapris pushing down on Carman's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Carman pushes Lapris off looking to stand but Lapris dives back in and keeps control.
Lapris content to control rather than advance. Lapris is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carman is trying to stand.
Lapris wants to free his trapped foot but Carman is holding on for dear life with his legs. Carman is trying to stand.
Lapris works his way into side control. Lapris grinds an elbow into Carman's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lapris tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Carman prevents Lapris from moving into mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carman is trying to get back to his feet. Lapris wants to control but Carman is keeping him busy. Carman is letting Lapris control him for a moment. Carman wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carman gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Carman tries to buck Lapris off but he can't manage it. Lapris controlling the pace for now. Carman squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Lapris scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Lapris landing punches. Lapris with good strikes from the mount here! Lapris content just to control the position here. Carman is bucking up trying to escape but Lapris cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lapris landing strikes from the mount. Lapris can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carman is looking to escape. Lapris looking to finish Carman with some ground and pound. This is bad for Carman! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lapris postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Carman looks a forlorn figure.
Carman really wants to buck Lapris off and get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lapris looking to control but Carman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Lapris wants to finish this one by submission but Carman is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lapris. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Lapris dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Carman throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Carman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Carman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Carlos Lapris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lapris seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Lapris is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lapris working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carman's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lapris trying to control but Carman is working from the bottom. Lapris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Carman is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lapris presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Carman manages to break the clinch.
Lapris shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lapris was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Carman taking punishment in the form of punches.
Lapris is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Carman can do to turn this around? Lapris advances nicely into full mount. Lapris lands a big shot there that rocks Carman but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lapris wants to control the pace but Carman is squirming around nicely. Lapris cracks Carman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lapris lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Lapris controlling his opponent. Lapris with the ground and pound from mount. Lapris controlling his opponent. Lapris with shots to the head and body - Carman looks very uncomfortable down there. A nice elbow there by Lapris.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lapris unloading with bombs! Lapris with the ground and pound from mount. Carman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lapris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lapris takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Lapris scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Carman?
Lapris has isolated one of Carman's arms. Carman looking to fight him off but Lapris twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Carlos Lapris! After the fight, Carlos Lapris was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
