Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Better Dead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Living in America. Dead has chosen Death March - Motionless in White as his entrance music. Better Dead has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Brown's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Better Dead!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Dead looks to clinch

and Brown counters with a shoot takedown. Dead fights it but they end up in guard.
Brown scoring with some ground and pound.

Brown sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Dead told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Dead is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dead tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dead keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully.

Brown content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Dead wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Dead is continuing to stall.
Dead is trying to keep Brown in close.

Dead looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dead is on top in guard.

Dead decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Brown, up you get!
A decent looking cross lands there for Brown.
Dead throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Brown counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brown is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Brown postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Dead is looking for a triangle but Brown pushes his legs off easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dead is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dead keeping moving, preventing Brown from controlling successfully.
Dead seems keen to control Brown's posture.
Brown lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Dead is trying to control the position but Brown postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dead wants to stand up but Brown is controlling him.

Brown makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Dead manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Dead's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dead misses with a looping right.
Brown feinted with a counter takedown.
Dead cracks Brown with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like John Brown has been cut.
Dead will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Brown changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Dead walks into a jab.
Dead lands with an uppercut that bounces Brown off the cage and back into range.
Better Dead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brown looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dead is fending him off so far but Brown persists. Nope, Dead circles away and we're back to standing.
Brown rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dead moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sloppy strikes from Dead. Those never looked like landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but Dead shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A little jabbing left from Dead on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Dead is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Brown clobbers Dead with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Brown connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Dead tries to land a leg kick but Brown saw it coming and moves away.
Brown tries to counter with a takedown but Dead is quick to defend against it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dead, as that shot connected.
Brown darts in looking for a takedown but Dead gets double underhooks and turns Brown into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dead clinches with his opponent.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Dead.
With the fighters up against the cage, Dead throws an elbow but misses.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Dead manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Brown will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on John Brown's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Oooooh!!! Dead has knocked Brown down with a huge combo! Dead steps away and waves a wobbly Brown back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Brown is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
Dead tries to clinch but Brown moves out of range.
Dead throws the kick towards the body but Brown avoids it.
Dead tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brown paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fighters circle, before Dead throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Brown's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Dead lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Better Dead!
