Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerard De Villefort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masamichi Yamaji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamaji has chosen Forgotten Places by Max Ablitzer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerard De Villefort!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Masamichi Yamaji!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaji throws a head kick that De Villefort semi-blocks.


It looks like Gerard De Villefort has been cut.
De Villefort walks forward, straight into a front kick from Yamaji.
A slow jab from De Villefort misses its intended target.
Masamichi Yamaji seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some bone on bone action there as De Villefort checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
De Villefort is looking for a counter combo.

Yamaji is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by De Villefort.
Yamaji lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and De Villefort counters with a left to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yamaji throws the kick towards the body but De Villefort avoids it.
De Villefort tries to counter with a takedown but Yamaji is quick to defend against it.

De Villefort seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
De Villefort looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yamaji is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yamaji is looking to stand up but De Villefort won't let him.

De Villefort wants to sweep but no luck.
Yamaji must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Villefort is working hard here to advance position.

De Villefort working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yamaji doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yamaji manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Yamaji tries to stand but De Villefort is controlling from the bottom.
Yamaji stays in close to De Villefort's body and controls the position.

De Villefort is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Yamaji defends well.

De Villefort trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Yamaji wants to control from the top but De Villefort keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yamaji controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Yamaji tries a head kick but it misses.
De Villefort is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Yamaji.
Yamaji throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


Gerard De Villefort's cut is getting worse.
Both fighters circling a little - Yamaji finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Yamaji tries to score with a low kick but De Villefort moves his leg out of the way.
An attempted straight right counter from De Villefort misses the target.
De Villefort uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Yamaji.

and De Villefort counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Masamichi Yamaji has been cut.
De Villefort walks into a jab.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Yamaji.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masamichi Yamaji dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Yamaji clobbers De Villefort with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Yamaji looks to land a right hand but De Villefort moved out of range.
De Villefort avoids a punch combination nicely.
De Villefort changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
De Villefort takes one on the button.
Masamichi Yamaji seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Yamaji fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but De Villefort is out of range.
De Villefort throws the left hand but Yamaji avoids the punch easily.
Yamaji steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
De Villefort throws a predictable looking body shot
and Yamaji counters with a stiff right hand.
Yamaji throws a nice looking combination but De Villefort bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Yamaji connects with a body shot that sends De Villefort's belly button to the back.

and De Villefort counters with a straight right hand.
De Villefort takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Yamaji misses with a hook. De Villefort ducked under it nicely.
It looked like De Villefort wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

De Villefort throws an overhand right that lands on Yamaji's shoulder, as Yamaji tries to avoid the shot.
De Villefort moves out of range of the body kick from Yamaji.
De Villefort attempts a counter takedown but Yamaji avoids it well and moves away.
De Villefort takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.


Gerard De Villefort's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Yamaji throws a lazy right hand but De Villefort sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
De Villefort shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Yamaji, right into the meat.
De Villefort fails to land with a series of punches.
Yamaji tries to counter by closing the distance.
De Villefort lands with a nice body punch.

Yamaji connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.


Jeez, Gerard De Villefort's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
De Villefort drops his hands for a split second and Yamaji immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into De Villefort face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Yamaji follows up with a right hand that knocks De Villefort into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Masamichi Yamaji!
A relieved looking Masamichi Yamaji thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
