Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ivan Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eek Mep!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mep lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Mep misses with a looping right.

Mep clinches.
Mep lands a hook to the side of the head.
Mep lands a nice uppercut.
Emelianenko misses with a short punch on the inside.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Emelianenko misses with a hook to the ribs.
Emelianenko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Mep pulls guard successfully.

Mep has his foot on Emelianenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Emelianenko works his way back into a safe position though.

Mep had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Emelianenko defends it easily.

Mep looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Mep throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Emelianenko escapes and throws Mep's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Emelianenko stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Emelianenko uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mep.

Mep gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Emelianenko to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Emelianenko is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Emelianenko postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Mep can't keep his opponent in guard - Emelianenko advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Mep is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Emelianenko pulls his head out easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mep tries to roll over but Emelianenko keeps him under control.
Emelianenko is controlling the pace.

Mep with the active half guard here but Emelianenko passes nicely into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Emelianenko is staying tight to Mep's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Emelianenko dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mep throws a hook but Emelianenko avoids it easily.
Ivan Emelianenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mep slaps away a takedown attempt from Emelianenko, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A punch lands to the side of Emelianenko 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Mep stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Emelianenko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mep defends it nicely.
Mep lands with an overhand left.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Emelianenko takes a jab right on the kisser.
OH! Emelianenko has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Mep smells blood and charges in for the finish! Mep unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Emelianenko sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Eek Mep!
After the fight, Eek Mep was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
