And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to clinch but Diggs is having none of it.
Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jackson closes the distance and clinches.
Diggs doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Diggs scores with a shot to the side of Jackson's head.

Diggs's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Steve Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Diggs counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Steve Jackson has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice straight punches there by Diggs. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Diggs.
That kick from Diggs tenderised Jackson's leg. Jackson is trying to keep his angry face on.
Diggs keeps the fight on the outside.
Diggs half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Diggs lands a jab to Jackson's midsection.

Jackson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Diggs counters with a right hand that sends Jackson tumbling to the canvas! Can Diggs finish him? He dives into Jackson's guard looking to do just that!
Jackson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Diggs drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diggs jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Diggs keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jackson's head.
Diggs throws a big elbow that misses.

Diggs slips nicely into half guard.

Jackson tries to kick Diggs off but Diggs keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diggs is nestled in close to Jackson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
