The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martinez dips to his left and cracks Andersen with an uppercut!
It looks like Kevin Andersen has been cut. A cross from Martinez lands. Martinez lands an overhand right. Martinez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Martinez lands a big shot that drops Andersen! Can he finish him?
Andersen is rocked! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Andersen can do anything to dispel that myth. You can see the frustration on Andersen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Andersen is trying to improve his position. Andersen is trying to control Martinez 's posture but Martinez avoids it.

Andersen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Martinez 's best efforts. Andersen is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Martinez pulls his head out easily. Andersen looks gassed! Andersen wants to control but Martinez is keeping busy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Martinez moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A leg kick checked by Martinez .

Andersen seems to have recovered his senses. Martinez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Andersen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. This has been an exciting period of action! Danga de danga de dang - Martinez scores with a four punch combination! Martinez lands with a nice combination. Andersen backs away looking to recover. Martinez wants to clinch. Martinez looks to land a right hand but Andersen moved out of range. Andersen looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Andersen sitting in guard, not really doing much. Martinez keeping moving, preventing Andersen from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Andersen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Andersen won't allow Martinez to get back to his feet. Andersen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Andersen working the ground and pound from side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martinez trying to remain calm as Andersen controls from the top position. Andersen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Martinez has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Andersen but great work by Martinez . Martinez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Martinez here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Andersen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martinez 's waist but Martinez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Andersen off to one side. Martinez scores with a three punch combo!
A cross from Martinez lands. Martinez is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Martinez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Andersen has gone for a leg lock! Martinez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Andersen's guard. Andersen has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Martinez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Andersen. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Andersen looking for a sweep but Martinez has passed into full mount! Oh no!
That's one minute gone in the round. Andersen wants to control but Martinez is having none of it. Martinez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Andersen is in all sorts of trouble here.

Andersen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Andersen throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Andersen wants to hold on but Martinez pushes him away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Martinez is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Andersen sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Matt Martinez will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Kevin Andersen's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Andersen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Martinez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Andersen's guard. Andersen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Martinez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Andersen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Martinez 's back instead. Martinez is trying to stand back up. Kevin Andersen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matt Martinez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
