PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Eric Esch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nero La Croix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). La Croix is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: La Meme Chose. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esch closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

It looks like Eric Esch has been cut.
Esch throws a nice outside leg kick.

La Croix cracks Esch with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Esch throws a series of punches but La Croix moves out of range.

La Croix wants to counter the offense by Esch and move into the clinch position.
Esch doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Our sources have told us that Esch has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

La Croix feints and then cracks Esch's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Esch down.

Esch swings for the body but La Croix moves out of range.

La Croix throws a lazy right hand but Esch sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Nero La Croix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Esch is looking to wear down La Croix with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

La Croix uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Esch attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

A little jabbing left from La Croix on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

That kick from La Croix tenderised Esch's leg. Esch is trying to keep his angry face on.
Esch takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Eric Esch's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
La Croix throws a body shot but no joy.
La Croix swings for the body but Esch moves out of range.

Jeez, Eric Esch's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Esch takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
La Croix scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
