PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Hartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enky Lock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lock has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Adrian Hartman has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Enky Lock!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Lock throws a body kick that misses.

Lock feints and as Hartman raises his hands in defense, Lock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hartman manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Hartman throws a sloppy head kick and Lock moves out of range easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lock! But no joy.

Lock shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hartman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Hartman pushes Lock off and gets back to his feet.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lock drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Hartman gets back to half guard.

Hartman kicks Lock off and gets back to his feet.
Hartman throws a sloppy head kick and Lock moves out of range easily.

Hartman instigates a clinch.

Hartman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hartman gets caught napping as Lock dives in and scores a takedown. Hartman manages to retain guard.

Hartman pushes Lock off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hartman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lock lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Lock feints and as Hartman raises his hands in defense, Lock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hartman is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Hartman has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Lock has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Lock tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Lock dives in and scores a takedown into Hartman's guard.

Hartman scrambles and gets back to his feet.

As Hartman backs off Lock throws a huge counter combo but Hartman manages to avoid it all.

Hartman has closed the distance and engaged Lock in a clinch.

Lock manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hartman is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lock presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Lock scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Adrian Hartman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hartman has one foot on Lock's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Hartman has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Lock changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hartman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lock shoots in and bounces Hartman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hartman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lock off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hartman manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Lock takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hartman lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Hartman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hartman is pushing down on Lock's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lock is fighting to maintain full guard but Hartman has managed to sneak the leg through.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hartman lands a nice short elbow.
Lock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hartman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hartman is trying to work for a kimura but Lock is defending well.

Hartman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lock is just riding it out for now. Hartman eventually gives up the hold.
Hartman winds up and cracks Lock with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Lock has hold of Hartman's hands but Hartman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hartman lands a nice short elbow.
Enky Lock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hartman decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hartman connects with a high kick.

Adrian Hartman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hartman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
