Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Theo Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Stevieson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Theo Calderon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Stevieson! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calderon moves into range and clinches up with Stevieson. Stevieson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Calderon can't fight it off and eventually Stevieson manages to take the fight to the floor. Calderon looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Calderon keeping moving, preventing Stevieson from controlling successfully. Calderon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Calderon performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Stevieson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Calderon stands up from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Calderon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stevieson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Calderon trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calderon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stevieson is aware though and is defending well. Stevieson stopping the sweep attempt from Calderon. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calderon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stevieson defends it easily. Stevieson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Calderon is keeping the position for now. Calderon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Calderon is on top in guard.
Stevieson is trying to keep Calderon in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Calderon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Calderon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Stevieson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Calderon's half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Stevieson is keen to just control but Calderon is a slippery customer. Calderon actively working from the bottom here. Stevieson throwing shots but Calderon is blocking nicely. Calderon tries to get to full guard but Stevieson has control of the leg. Stevieson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Calderon is refusing to be controlled, as Stevieson sits in half guard. Calderon looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Calderon punching from the bottom.
Calderon actively working from the bottom here. Stevieson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Calderon is just riding it out for now. Stevieson eventually gives up the hold. Calderon punching from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Calderon punching from the bottom.
Calderon flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Calderon works his way to full guard. Good work. Calderon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Calderon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stevieson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stevieson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Calderon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Calderon has his foot on Stevieson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stevieson works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Theo Calderon will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Stevieson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Calderon napping and manages to drive through into side control! Calderon sneaks back into half guard. Calderon punching from the bottom.
Calderon makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Calderon. Stevieson trying to control the position from guard on top but Calderon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Calderon is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Stevieson rolls with it to try and escape but Calderon cranks on the arm and Stevieson is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
