Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Dorian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thorn Black!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dorian works the jab nicely.
Dorian just misses with a punch to the body.
Black takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dorian cracks Black with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dorian tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Black was well out of range. Poor timing from Dorian.
Dorian digs a good body shot into Black's ribs.
Dorian looks to land a left hand but Black moved out of range nicely.
Black bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dorian can't do much from the bottom here.
Dorian is trying to improve his position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Black trying to control the action but Dorian is working from the bottom.
Dorian's coaches at LOD London Top Tier have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Dorian can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Black wants to control but Dorian is keeping him busy.
Black working away.
Black tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Black has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Black throws a strike aimed at the side of Dorian's head but Dorian avoids it well.
Black taking a breather here.
Dorian manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Black sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Black passes the guard and advances to mount!
Black controlling the position easily from mount.
Black's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that Black has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Dorian is squirming around, avoiding Black's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Black goes for an armbar but Dorian turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dorian.
Dorian stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Black throws up his legs and catches Dorian in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Dorian tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Black! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Thorn Black!
Thorn Black decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
