Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Kessler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonny Meller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meller fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kessler sprawls well initially but Meller persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Meller thows a huge punch but Kessler dodges it nicely.
Meller wants to take a breather but Kessler is having none of it. Meller lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Meller tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Kessler. Kessler blocking the ground and pound attempt from Meller. Kessler looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Meller missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meller working the head and body with strikes. Meller lands with a punch from half guard. Kessler trying to hold on to Meller's head to control him but Meller postures up.
Meller trying to control the action but Kessler is working from the bottom. Meller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kessler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Meller winds up and cracks Kessler with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meller seems to be looking for submissions.
Kessler works his way to full guard. Good work. Kessler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Meller can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meller working some strikes from top position. Meller won't allow Kessler to sweep him here. Kessler throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Meller wants to control from the top but Kessler keeps moving. Meller with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Meller trying to control but Kessler is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meller is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Meller thows a big elbow that misses. Meller would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kessler keeping moving, preventing Meller from controlling successfully. Meller looks gassed! Kessler pulls Meller in close to prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Meller closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kessler blocks an uppercut.
Kessler displaying some good clinch control by pressing Meller up against the cage. Meller throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kesslers head. Kessler tries to pull guard but Meller won't allow it.
Meller misses with the head strike.
Meller jumps guard but Kessler stands there with Meller around his waist. Meller gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Kessler tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Meller smiles and moves away.
Meller shoots in and bounces Kessler off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sonny Meller dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kessler fails to land the takedown. Meller clinches. Kessler can't get the takedown.
Kessler tries to break the clinch but Meller is controlling the position. Meller leaning his opponent against the cage. Kessler missing with knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kessler is trying to break the clinch but Meller has him pressed against the cage. Kessler ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kessler no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Meller with a flurry of punches that miss. Meller is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kessler keeping moving, preventing Meller from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kessler utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Meller is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Meller looking to sit in guard and control but Kessler gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Meller is trying to keep Kessler in close.
Meller might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kessler kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Meller looking to control but Kessler passes into half guard.
Meller is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kessler missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Meller won't allow Kessler to pass to mount. Meller is looking to control Kessler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Meller avoid being mounted? Meller is looking to improve his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Meller gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kessler wants to break free but Meller has control.
Meller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Meller tries to clinch up but Kessler circles away and keeps his distance. Meller closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kessler struggling a bit here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kessler sneaks back into half guard. Meller controlling the action here. Kessler trying to control from the bottom.
Sonny Meller has got the better of the ground game so far. Meller is looking to stall here but Kessler recovers full guard. Meller is posturing up here but Kessler has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Meller tries to roll out but it's too tight and Meller has to tap! Slick submission there by Kessler!
