Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 84 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mountain Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kasvi has managed to clinch.

We've been told by Kasvi's head coaches at Miletich Xtreme Fighting Systems that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Kasvi scores with a one two! Rivera had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Rivera tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kasvi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rivera somewhat.
Rivera shoots for a takedown but Kasvi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kasvi tries to counter by clinching up but Rivera breaks away and moves out of range.
Rivera misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jyrki Kasvi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mountain Rivera.
Rivera shoots for a double leg takedown but Kasvi sprawls well. He's pushed Rivera's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rivera is defended easily by Kasvi.

Kasvi gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Kasvi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rivera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kasvi is fending him off so far but Rivera persists. Nope, Kasvi circles away and we're back to standing.

Rivera shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kasvi but Kasvi pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kasvi clinches up with Rivera and pushes him back against the cage.

Kasvi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rivera misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kasvi.

Rivera is working for takedown but Kasvi is calmly controlling the position for now.
Rivera tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kasvi avoids it.
Kasvi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Kasvi lands a left hand.
Stalling in the clinch from Kasvi.
Kasvi lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Rivera with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Rivera is working for takedown but Kasvi is calmly controlling the position for now.

Rivera drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kasvi gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Kasvi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kasvi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rivera tries for a takedown but Kasvi circles away easily
and Kasvi counters with a nice body shot.

Nice combo by Kasvi! Oh, that's hurt him - Rivera falls to the canvas and Kasvi follows him into side control.


It looks like Mountain Rivera has been cut.

Kasvi decides to stand back up. Kasvi steps back and let's Rivera get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rivera fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kasvi avoids it really well and circles away.
Rivera takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rivera has a takedown stuffed.

A jab-cross combination lands for Kasvi and sends Rivera crashing to the mat! Kasvi follows him down to the mat - Rivera regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Rivera is rocked!

Kasvi stands up out of the half guard.
Rivera is still on wobbly legs! Can Kasvi finish him?
Rivera shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kasvi counters with a right hand from hell and Rivera is out cold! A vicious knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jyrki Kasvi!
