PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronie Cash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby TupperII (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronie Cash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 38 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby TupperII!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
TupperII throws a nice head kick!
Cash throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Bobby TupperII has been cut.
TupperII takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

TupperII drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cash has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
TupperII trying to control the position from guard on top but Cash is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
TupperII stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cash swivels though and keeps the full guard.

TupperII got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cash has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, TupperII has managed to get both his arms back between Cash's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

TupperII drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cash dives on top into guard.


TupperII escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cash gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
TupperII is trying to control the position but Cash postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cash slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
TupperII wants to sweep but no luck.

TupperII throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cash escapes and throws TupperII's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Cash content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
TupperII tries to control but Cash manages to take his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cash has good solid back control here.
TupperII wants to get back to his feet.

TupperII defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Cash is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
TupperII is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Cash's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Cash not allowing TupperII to control his hands.

Cash looking to break TupperII's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. TupperII remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Cash will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Cash trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
TupperII rolls, trying to escape but Cash keeps control of the position.

Cash has both hooks in and is working for a choke. TupperII is in real trouble here. Cash gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, TupperII is tapping out! Cash wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ronie Cash!
