Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between MIchael Venturi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Casparelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, MIchael Venturi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Casparelli! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Casparelli closes this distance looking for a takedown but Venturi circles away. Casparelli moves into range and clinches up with Venturi. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Casparelli has eaten all the pies! Venturi throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Casparelli blocks it with crossed arms. Casparelli tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Casparelli's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Casparelli swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Venturi misses with a takedown attempt - Casparelli sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Venturi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Casparelli as he avoids it easily. Casparelli instigates a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Venturi wants to break the clinch but can't.
Casparelli tries to score a body lock takedown but Venturi shows good agility there to stay on his feet. MIchael Venturi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Casparelli. Casparelli is pushing Venturi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Casparelli tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Venturi tries to pull guard but Casparelli holds him up against the cage and eventually Venturi drops back down to his feet.
Casparelli escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Venturi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Venturi wants it to stay on the feet. Venturi is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A punch combination from Venturi misses. Venturi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Casparelli tries to avoid it but Venturi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Casparelli to the ground. Casparelli escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Casparelli displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Venturi. Casparelli tries to score a power double leg takedown but Venturi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Casparelli somewhat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Casparelli moves into the clinch. Venturi misses with a shot to the kidneys.

A frustrated look appears on Venturi's face as he tries to break the clinch. Venturi looking to slow down the pace here. Casparelli pulls guard. Casparelli working a defensive guard here.
Casparelli is pulling down on Venturi's head to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casparelli trying to keep a closed guard but Venturi is proving a slippery customer.
Venturi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Venturi tries to stand but Casparelli is controlling from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Venturi trying to control but Casparelli is working from the bottom. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Casparelli wants to sweep here but Venturi controlling him for the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Casparelli shoots in for a double leg but Venturi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. No luck with that takedown attempt from Venturi. Venturi tries to clinch but Casparelli is having none of it. As Venturi backs off Casparelli throws a huge counter combo but Venturi manages to avoid it all. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Venturi with a nice cross. Casparelli has managed to clinch.

Joe Casparelli dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Casparelli has a takedown stuffed. Venturi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Casparelli sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Venturi somewhat. Casparelli clinches. Casparelli wants to take the fight to the mat but Venturi manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Venturi is trying to pull guard but Casparelli turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Casparelli prevents Venturi from breaking the clinch. Venturi working hard to break the clinch. Casparelli gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Venturi.

Casparelli works on Venturi's body with a couple of short punches. Knees in the clinch landing for Casparelli.
Venturi takes an elbow to the forehead. Venturi is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Venturi tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Casparelli avoids it. Venturi tries to pull guard but Casparelli forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Casparelli has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Venturi uses from the top position. Casparelli is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Casparelli working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Venturi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Venturi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Casparelli trying to control the position here. Venturi preventing the sweep. Casparelli has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Venturi trying to control but Casparelli is working from the bottom. Venturi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casparelli has Venturi pulled in close to control his posture. Casparelli not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Casparelli keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Casparelli throws a sloppy head kick and Venturi moves out of range easily. Casparelli throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. As Casparelli tries to get set, Venturi tries to push him back and clinch up but Casparelli manages to avoid the attempt. Horrible takedown attempt by Casparelli or perhaps it was just good defense by Venturi, which made it look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Venturi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Casparelli has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Casparelli and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Venturi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Casparelli pinned against the cage. Casparelli gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Casparelli lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Casparelli stuffs the takedown attempt from Venturi. Venturi gets slowly back to his feet. Casparelli drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Venturi defends it well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Venturi gets tackled into the cage by Casparelli. Casparelli maintains the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Casparelli manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Venturi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Casparelli trying to control the position.

Joe Casparelli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Casparelli pushes Venturi up against the cage in a clinch. Venturi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Casparelli stops a takedown attempt from Venturi.

MIchael Venturi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Casparelli avoids the head kick by Venturi.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. No joy there for Venturi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Casparelli has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Venturi avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Venturi is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Casparelli to keep the fight standing.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Casparelli blocks an elbow strike. Casparelli pulls guard successfully.
Casparelli striking off his back but it's not causing Venturi any problems. Casparelli is pulling down on Venturi's head. It's preventing any offense from Venturi, at least for the moment. Casparelli is looking for a triangle but Venturi pushes his legs off easily.
Casparelli looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Casparelli kicks Venturi off and gets to his feet. Casparelli shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Venturi as he avoids it easily. Venturi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Venturi lands a jab-cross combination. Venturi tries to clinch there but Casparelli circles away.
Casparelli lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Venturi tries to clinch but Casparelli moves out of range. Nice sprawl there from Casparelli as Venturi shoots in.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Casparelli throws a head kick that misses. Venturi gets caught flat footed, as Casparelli shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Venturi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Casparelli is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Venturi. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Casparelli prevents Venturi from escaping the position. Casparelli thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Casparelli trying to control the action but Venturi is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Casparelli comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Casparelli has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Joe Casparelli! Joe Casparelli decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
