PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Debbie Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominick Pabijoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Debbie Silver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dominick Pabijoon!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver looks to land a combination but Pabijoon avoids it well.
Silver lands with a right hand.
Silver darts in looking for a takedown but Pabijoon gets double underhooks and turns Silver into the cage.
Silver throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pabijoon's waist but Pabijoon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silver off to one side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Silver misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pabijoon.
Silver drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Debbie Silver. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Silver is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silver is trying to pull guard but Pabijoon has him pressed against the cage.
Silver goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pabijoon prevents it.
Silver is trying to force a seperation but Pabijoon has the dominant position.

Pabijoon breaks the clinch.
Pabijoon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silver.

Pabijoon looking to score a takedown here. Silver is defending well but Pabijoon drives through and ends up in Silver's guard.

Silver escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pabijoon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Silver is breathing heavily.
Silver is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Pabijoon landing with the ground and pound.
Silver is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pabijoon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silver swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pabijoon controlling from the top position.
Pabijoon wants to stand but Silver has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pabijoon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Pabijoon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silver. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pabijoon's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pabijoon controls from within his opponent's guard.
Silver will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pabijoon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Pabijoon looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Silver working for a triangle but Pabijoon defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pabijoon's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pabijoon shoots in and bounces Silver off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pabijoon is working Silver over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dominick Pabijoon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Pabijoon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silver did well to prevent Pabijoon getting side control.
Pabijoon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pabijoon wants to free his trapped foot but Silver is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Silver trying to control from the bottom.
Well, if Pabijoon is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silver is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pabijoon decides to stand and escape the position.

Pabijoon moves into the clinch.
Silver has had enough of the clinch but Pabijoon keeps him there for the moment.
Come on Pabijoon - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Pabijoon dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Pabijoon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pabijoon drives through and clinches with Silver against the cage.
Pabijoon fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pabijoon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pabijoon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Silver tries to free his leg and advance position but Pabijoon is retaining full guard.
Pabijoon keeping moving, preventing Silver from controlling successfully.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pabijoon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pabijoon wants to stand and escape but Silver is having none of it.
Silver throws a big elbow that misses.

Pabijoon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silver can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Silver passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pabijoon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silver wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Silver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pabijoon is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Pabijoon is looking to reverse the position.

Silver has hold of Pabijoon's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Pabijoon seems comfortable defending it but Silver has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Pabijoon is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Pabijoon is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Silver couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Debbie Silver!
