Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lanny Burris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Lupo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lupo has chosen Redemption Song - Bob Marley as his entrance music. Lanny Burris has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lanny Burris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimmy Lupo! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lupo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lupo gets a double leg takedown into Burris's guard. Burris working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lupo. Burris keeping moving, preventing Lupo from controlling successfully. Lupo throws a big elbow that misses. Lupo postures up in Burris's guard and throws a big left but Burris blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lupo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Lupo stops Burris from standing up. Burris tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burris is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Burris really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Burris tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lupo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Burris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lupo somewhat. Lupo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Burris is wriggling around but Lupo manages to pass to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lupo controlling the action here. Burris tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lupo manages to move to mount!
Lupo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Burris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lupo on the ground. Poor strikes thrown by Lupo there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Burris is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Lupo landing punches.
Burris is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Burris has left one of his arms exposed and Lupo doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Burris screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jimmy Lupo! Jimmy Lupo tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
