Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Kingston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Miller!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller fails with a takedown attempt.
Miller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kingston swivels and escapes.
Kingston throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Miller sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Miller leaves Kingston with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Miller shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kingston as he jumps to the side.
Thomas Kingston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Miller.
Miller cracks Kingston with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

and Kingston counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Miller!

Miller is trying to control Kingston's posture but Kingston avoids it.

Kingston tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kingston has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kingston seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Miller for as long as he can get away with.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Kingston thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Miller's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kingston closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kingston cracks Miller with a big right hand but Miller just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kingston manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Miller manages to get himself to full guard.

Kingston sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Miller's guard.

Kingston has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
