Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Mahcock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borys Hund! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Hund. Mahcock can't do much from the bottom here. Mahcock is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hund is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Hund landing strikes. Mahcock wants to control but Hund postures up. Hund trying to control the position but Mahcock is working away. Mahcock definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Mahcock is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mahcock is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Hund is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mahcock trying to control from the bottom.
Mahcock on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mahcock tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hund seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mahcock does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hund is working for a submission of some sort.
Hund looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Mahcock is refusing to be controlled, as Hund sits in half guard. Hund looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mahcock with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Mahcock keeping control of the position. Hund is trying to control. Mahcock wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Mahcock is looking to control Hund's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mahcock avoid being mounted? Mahcock is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Hund scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Mahcock wants to control but Hund is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mahcock is not content to let Hund control the position. Mahcock is trying to maintain the position but Hund is very close to passing his half guard. Mahcock controlling the position well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mahcock missing with punches from the bottom.
Hund trying to control from half guard but Mahcock is working away. Mahcock keeping hold of Hund's head, controlling as best he can. Hund trying to mount his opponent but Mahcock defends it. Hund trying to control the pace. Hund frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mahcock is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Mahcock is trying desperately to improve position. Hund is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mahcock to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mahcock shrugs it off. Hund avoids the attempt from Mahcock to control. Mahcock tries to control the position but Hund now has his back.
Mahcock fending off the submission attempt from Hund. Mahcock is trying to get back to his feet but Hund has full control of the position and if anything, Mahcock has just worked his way into a worse spot. Hund is persistently looking for the submission but Mahcock is defending it well.
Mahcock wants to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hund trying to control. Can Mahcock hold on?! Hund is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Hund is landing with strikes from the back. Hund not allowing Mahcock to control his hands. Hund looking for the choke but no joy. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hund is persistently looking for the submission but Mahcock is defending it well.
Mahcock is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Hund has managed to slip his arm under Mahcock's chin. This could be all over... yep, Mahcock is tapping out! Submission win for Hund.
