Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cletus Kline (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tahgi Assad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cletus Kline! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tahgi Assad! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kline drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Assad is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kline is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Assad is trying to escape the mount.
Assad regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kline working over Assad with some ground and pound. Assad looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Assad is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Assad trying to hold on to Kline's head to control him but Kline postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Assad tries to get to full guard but Kline has control of the leg. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kline connects with a nice short shot to Assad's temple. Assad regains full guard. Nicely done. Assad working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kline doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kline manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Assad is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kline scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Assad is trying to keep Kline in close.

Kline is posturing up here but Assad has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kline tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kline has to tap! Slick submission there by Assad!
