Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dylan Joseph! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Rocha! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joseph has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rocha looking to stall.
Joseph escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rocha rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Joseph moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Roberto Rocha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Joseph tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rocha was well out of range. Poor timing from Joseph. Joseph gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Joseph keeping moving, preventing Rocha from controlling successfully. Rocha preventing the sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rocha avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rocha trying to control but Joseph is working from the bottom. Rocha might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Joseph haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocha trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rocha has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Joseph working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rocha doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rocha manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Rocha postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rocha throwing strikes from guard but Joseph blocks nicely. Joseph is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rocha stands up and waves to Joseph to follow him. Rocha closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joseph is looking to improve his position.
Rocha decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Joseph avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rocha tries to score with a low kick but Joseph moves his leg out of the way. Rocha with a hook.
It looks like Dylan Joseph has been cut. Joseph really is a fat lump. Rocha closes the distance looking to clinch and Joseph counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocha drops Joseph with a naaaaasty hook - Joseph is in real trouble here! Rocha dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
