PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Val Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allan Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen NF - Grindin' as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Val Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Allan Lee!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage moves in looking to clinch but Lee pushes him off.
Lee doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Savage counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lee is trying to escape back to his feet but Savage uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Lee defending against the ground and pound.

Savage decides to stand back up.
Lee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Savage forces Lee back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee avoiding damage.
Lee wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Savage has him pressed against the cage.
Savage is trying to pull guard but Lee has him pressed against the cage.
Lee drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Savage gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Savage has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lee is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Savage breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lee scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Lee shoots for a double leg takedown but Savage sprawls well. He's pushed Lee's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lee misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Savage tries to counter by clinching up but Lee breaks away and moves out of range.

Savage lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Savage manages to break the clinch.

Savage drives through and clinches with Lee against the cage.

Savage pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Allan Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but Savage sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat.

Savage forces Lee back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Savage tries to clinch but Lee moves out of range.
Lee is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Savage goes for an armbar but Lee turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lee.

Lee wants to get up but he can't break Savage's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Savage has control of Lee's left arm, preventing Lee from doing any damage.

Savage looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lee is one step ahead there.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Savage will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Lee gets to his feet. Savage looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Savage is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Lee wants to get back to full guard.
Lee makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lee.

Savage stands up from Lee's guard - Savage perhaps looking for a knockout.

Lee takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Lee stuffs the takedown attempt from Savage. Savage gets slowly back to his feet.
Lee fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lee keeps Savage at a distance using the push kick.
Lee tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Savage defends well and Lee ends up having to push Savage into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Val Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Allan Lee.

Lee shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lee showed some decent athleticism there.
Savage is controlling Lee's position as best he can from this difficult position.

I would just about give that final round to Allan Lee.
