Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Parent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Polo has chosen On The Floor as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Parent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marco Polo! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Parent. No joy for Polo on that attempt. Parent bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Parent throws a series of punches but Polo avoids them all with ease. Parent is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Polo. Parent closes the distance and clinches. Parent has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Polo regains guard immediately. Polo pulls Parent in to control the position. Parent throws a big right hand that misses. Parent won't allow Polo to sweep him here. Parent trying to control the position from guard on top but Polo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parent is really struggling to control Polo but he's trying to hold on to the position. Polo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Our spies down at at Death Valley Training Facility inform us that Polo has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Parent looking to sit in guard and control but Polo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polo trying to control the position from guard on top but Parent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Parent being controlled here, momentarily. Parent pulls Polo in close to prevent any damage. Polo wants to control from the top but Parent keeps moving. Parent not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Polo trying to control but Parent is working from the bottom. Parent has Polo pulled in close to control his posture. Polo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Polo sitting in guard here, content to control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Parent is looking to clinch. Polo darts in looking for a takedown but Parent gets double underhooks and turns Polo into the cage. A jab from Parent does it's job there. Polo misses with a shot to the body and Parent counters with a shoot takedown. Polo fights it but they end up in guard. Polo being controlled here, momentarily. Polo managing to control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Parent won't allow Polo to sweep him here. Parent is looking to pass into half guard but Polo pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Polo is in guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Parent holds on and takes a little breather. Parent avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Parent is trying to keep Polo in close.
Parent manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Polo manages to get himself to full guard.

Parent misses with a takedown attempt and Polo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Parent keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Parent connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Polo takes a jab right on the kisser.
Parent gets in close and instigates a clinch. Polo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Parent is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Polo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Polo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Parent works a leg free and moves into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parent trying to control from half guard but Polo is working away. Parent is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round. Polo trying to hold on to Parent's head to control him but Parent postures up.
Parent not landing any meaningful shots this time. Parent is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Polo can do to turn this around? Parent trying to control from Polo's half guard. Polo has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Parent's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Parent throws a big right hand that misses. Parent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Polo swivels though and keeps the full guard. Parent lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Parent slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Parent tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Polo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Parent off and has taken his back! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Polo's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Parent has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Parent is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Polo gets his way!
Polo has good solid back control here. Parent wants to control his opponent's hands but Polo gets his hands free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Polo.

Parent has his hands clasped together around Polo's back. He's all about the action. Parent blocking the ground and pound attempt from Polo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Polo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Polo thows a huge punch but Parent dodges it nicely.
Polo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Parent doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Polo. Polo is trying to work for a kimura but Parent is defending well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bobby Parent will probably get the nod. That's time! Parent's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Polo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Parent connects with a body shot that sends Polo's belly button to the back. Polo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Polo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Polo takes one on the button. Parent throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Donk. Parent catches Polo right on the button with a cross. Polo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Parent takes the fight into the clinch. Polo fails to pull guard.

Bobby Parent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Polo. Bobby Parent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Parent throws the left hand but Polo avoids the punch easily. Polo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Parent cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Parent. Polo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Parent wants to clinch up but Polo keeps it at a distance.

Polo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Polo postures up in Parent's guard and throws a big left but Parent blocks it. Parent working a defensive guard here.
