PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jarni Kutsoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnie Cash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kutsoo comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Johnie Cash was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnie Cash!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kutsoo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kutsoo drops back looking for a leg! Cash is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cash manages to kick Kutsoo off! Kutsoo jumps back into Cash's guard.

Kutsoo goes for a double leg but Cash avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cash continues to drive forward.
Cash throws out a counter right but Kutsoo avoids it with no problem.

Cash tries to bum rush Kutsoo with a series of wild strikes but Kutsoo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cash defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kutsoo.
Kutsoo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cash pinned against the cage. Cash gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jarni Kutsoo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kutsoo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cash avoids it really well and circles away.
Kutsoo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cash sprawls well. Cash wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kutsoo gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters circling - Cash throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Cash throws a jab when Kutsoo was well out of range.
Cash throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kutsoo is defended easily by Cash.
Kutsoo moves out of range as Cash strikes.
Cash misses with a double jab.

Kutsoo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kutsoo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cash doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kutsoo.
Cash looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cash manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kutsoo keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Kutsoo wants a takedown.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kutsoo is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cash gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Cash misses with a body punch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Cash.
Cash goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Cash lands with a short shot to the head.
Cash lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kutsoo backwards.
Cash lands a body punch.
Cash is pressed up against the cage. Kutsoo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cash down to the mat. Cash avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kutsoo on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Kutsoo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cash as he jumps to the side.
Kutsoo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cash circles away.
Cash connects with the punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnie Cash dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Cash looks to score with a jab to the body but Kutsoo is just out of range.
Johnie Cash seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Cash throws a series of punches but Kutsoo moves out of range.
Kutsoo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Kutsoo scores with a takedown into Cash's guard.

Kutsoo has gone for a leg lock! Cash slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kutsoo's guard.

Cash would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Kutsoo has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Cash should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kutsoo has tightened it up now! Cash should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jarni Kutsoo!
Post fight, an emotional Jarni Kutsoo said 'WHO? WHO? WHO`S THE BEST?! I CAN`T HEAR YOU!!!'.
