Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edmond Mcdowell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Nathan! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Nathan does no damage. Mcdowell takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Edmond Mcdowell has been cut. Nathan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcdowell napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mcdowell is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mcdowell taking a bit of punishment here - Nathan scoring with strikes.
Mcdowell is rocked! Nathan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Oh Mcdowell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Nathan lands a strong strike to the head of Mcdowell. That's dazed him! Nathan looking to finish here. Mcdowell is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Nathan lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Nathan! John Nathan took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I would like to thank my trainer, my manager and everyone else who supported me. I couldn't have done it without them and I wish to congratulate my opponent as he lost to none other than the future world champion. Now he can brag to his grand children that he fought the great John Nathan.'.
