Thompson looking to score a takedown here. John is defending well but Thompson drives through and ends up in John's guard.
Thompson trying to control but John is working from the bottom.
John looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Thompson passes into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
John regains half guard.
Thompson wants to take a breather but John is having none of it.

John is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Thompson frees his head nicely. Oh but John has switched to an armbar! Thompson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
