Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hector Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Peter North enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hector Rodriguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter North!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

North closes the distance and pushes Rodriguez back into the cage.

North fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rodriguez sprawls well initially but North persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

North is looking for a kimura here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
North controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

North dives in and scores a takedown into Rodriguez's guard.

North moves into range and clinches up with Rodriguez.

North fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rodriguez, pushing him back against the cage.

North is looking for a triangle but Rodriguez pushes his legs off easily.

and Rodriguez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rodriguez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
North's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rodriguez darts in and clinches North up against the cage.

North breaks from the clinch.
North swats away the attempt to clinch by Rodriguez.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rodriguez clinches up against the cage.
North lands a good knee to the midsection. Rodriguez won't want to take too many of those.
Rodriguez jumps guard but North stands there with Rodriguez around his waist. Rodriguez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

North has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rodriguez clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Rodriguez wants to escape the position.
Rodriguez is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by North.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Peter North showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

North is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Rodriguez is defending well though. North let's go of the attempt for now.

North throwing strikes here but Rodriguez is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

North stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Rodriguez wants to clinch.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

North shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rodriguez's guard.
North tries to free his leg and advance position but Rodriguez is retaining full guard.
North controls from within his opponent's guard.
North trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rodriguez looking for a sweep. Not yet Rodriguez, not yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rodriguez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
North slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Peter North comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well North has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
