Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Westaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Young III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westaway closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Westaway perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Young III regains full guard. Nicely done.
Young III looking to hit a scissor sweep but Westaway is one step ahead there.
Young III wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Westaway is now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Westaway connects with a nice short shot to Young III's temple.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
