Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Merel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owens has chosen Thunderstruck by AC/DC as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be a great matchup!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Owens!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Merel swivels and escapes.
Owens shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Merel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Joseph Owens has been cut.
Joseph Owens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Owens shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jack Merel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Owens.
Owens moves to clinch but Merel breaks away
and Merel counters with a crisp right hand that drops Owens! Merel lets Owens back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Owens is rocked!
Owens darts in looking for a takedown but Merel gets double underhooks and turns Owens into the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Owens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Merel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Merel went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Owens steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Merel. That one must have hurt.
Owens looks winded!
Owens on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Merel. Merel obviously looking to wear him down.
Owens shoots in but Merel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Merel cracks Owens with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Owens looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Merel finish him?
A big right followed by a crushing left from Merel knocks Owens out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jack Merel!
A relieved looking Jack Merel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Joseph Owens spoke after the fight, saying 'I deserve a title shot! NOW!'.
