Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Kopperman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shannon Shiflett! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shiflett takes the fight into the clinch. Shiflett tries for a takedown but Kopperman manages to get underhooks.
Shiflett keeps control of Kopperman as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kopperman is looking to control Shiflett's arms but Shiflett gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kopperman has his back to the cage. Shiflett wants the takedown. Kopperman is fighting it off but Shiflett persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kopperman's guard against the cage. Kopperman pushes Shiflett off and scrambles back to his feet.
Shiflett walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kopperman. Shiflett misses with a body kick. Shiflett closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Shiflett crunches a lovely knee into Kopperman's ribcage. Shiflett connects with a knee to the head.

Kopperman wants to break free but Shiflett has control.
Kopperman is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Shiflett blocks an elbow strike from Kopperman.
Kopperman stops a takedown attempt from Shiflett.
Shiflett manages to break the clinch.
Kopperman lands with a straight right. Shiflett didn't see that one coming. A head kick misses from Kopperman. Kopperman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shiflett.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kopperman tries to clinch and Shiflett counters by clinching up. Kopperman pulls Shiflett into guard.
Kopperman manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Shiflett misses with a looping left. Shiflett shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Shiflett was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kopperman is controlling an arm, preventing Shiflett from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Kopperman tries to hold on but Shiflett pushes him away. Kopperman is breathing heavily. Shiflett with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Kopperman tries to reverse the position but Shiflett maintains control.

Shiflett avoids the attempt from Kopperman to control. Shiflett is working for a guillotine from mount but Kopperman frees his head quite easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kopperman tries to buck Shiflett off but Shiflett takes his back! Shiflett is looking for the choke from the back position but Kopperman is controlling his hands well. Kopperman won't enjoy being in this position. Shiflett looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Kopperman is tapping - it's over boys! Shiflett picks up the submission victory!
