Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Don Cartagena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Ryback (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cartagena comes to the cage accompanied by The Crack Attack. Ryback has chosen Superstition - Stevie Wonder as his entrance music. Casey Ryback will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryback misses with an uppercut. The fight stays on the outside here - Ryback looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cartagena looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Ryback takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Cartagena misses with a series of wild punches.
Ryback throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cartagena sees it coming and avoids it easily. Cartagena throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ryback counters with a right hand to the body. Cartagena keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cartagena misses with a hook. Ryback ducked under it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ryback connects with a looping right hand.
Ryback throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Cartagena is looking to counter punch. Ryback scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cartagena doesn't seem bothered though. Ryback clinches up with Cartagena and pushes him back against the cage. Cartagena escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryback works over Cartagena's head and body with a nice combination. Ryback has Cartagena up against the cage in a clinch.
Cartagena is trying to break free. Cartagena is trying to force a seperation but Ryback has the dominant position. Ryback is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Cartagena is defending well. Ryback tries for a takedown but Cartagena manages to get underhooks.

We've been informed that Ryback has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Don Cartagena has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Casey Ryback. Ryback is trying to pull guard but Cartagena turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Ryback is trying to drag Cartagena to the mat but Cartagena just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Cartagena can't break the clinch.

Ryback ducks under a wild hook from Cartagena. Cartagena rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ryback moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ryback tries to clinch but Cartagena moves out of range. Ryback clinches. Cartagena is trying to push Ryback away but Ryback has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Cartagena wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ryback has him pressed against the cage. Ryback is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cartagena gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Ryback is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cartagena to keep the fight standing. Cartagena working hard to break the clinch. Ryback wants to take the fight to the mat but Cartagena manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Cartagena is looking to break free of the clinch but Ryback has double underhooks. Ryback's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sloppy strikes from Cartagena. Those never looked like landing. Cartagena uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ryback.
This has been an exciting period of action! Ryback keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ryback clinches. Ryback turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Cartagena is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryback trying to control the position but Cartagena is working away. Cartagena on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cartagena tries to get out of the position. Cartagena tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ryback wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Cartagena is not content to let Ryback control the position. Cartagena is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Cartagena throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Don Cartagena is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cartagena throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice uppercut lands for Ryback. That snapped Cartagena's head back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ryback tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cartagena has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ryback finds it's way round the side to connect with Cartagena's head. Cartagena throws a shot from downtown. Ryback moves away and avoids it. Ryback misses with an uppercut. Cartagena loads up on a big right hand but Ryback slips the punch. Some wild striking there from Ryback.
Cartagena is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Ryback staying out of range there. A punch combination from Ryback misses. As Ryback looks to move away, Cartagena throws a big counter combo but Ryback just gets out of the way. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ryback misses with a series of wild punches.
Cartagena avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Cartagena 's head but he takes it in his stride. Cartagena shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Casey Ryback dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A big left from Ryback misses. Ryback staying out of range there. Ryback wants to clinch but Cartagena slips to the side and Cartagena counters with a stiff right hand. Ryback misses with a straight left. The fighters circle momentarily. Ryback darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Ryback fails to land with a series of punches.
Ryback has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Cartagena keeps the fight on the outside. Cartagena throws a big counter combination but Ryback scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Cartagena moves out of range as Ryback strikes. Cartagena was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Casey Ryback seems to be getting the better of the standup. Cartagena throws a poor cross that misses
and Ryback counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ryback tries to bum rush Cartagena with a series of wild strikes but Cartagena uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cartagena was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ryback tries to clinch up. Cartagena throws a body punch but Ryback moves out of range. Cartagena throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Ryback crashing down! Ryback tries to stagger back to his feet but Cartagena just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Ryback asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Don Cartagena! Don Cartagena tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. The defeated Casey Ryback had this to say: 'Another cold day in Hell. '.
