Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Navin Murugan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Najib Razak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Najib Razak!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murugan blocks a head kick by Razak.
Razak tries to bum rush Murugan with a series of wild strikes but Murugan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Murugan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Murugan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Razak is looking to clinch but Murugan is avoiding it.
Razak tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Murugan swivels and escapes.
Murugan could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Murugan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Razak pinned against the cage. Razak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Razak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Murugan but Murugan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Razak doesn't manage to clinch there - Murugan circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

so Murugan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Razak takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Murugan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Razak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murugan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Murugan has Razak up against the cage in a clinch.

Murugan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Razak uses from the top position.
Murugan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Murugan shoots for a takedown but Razak saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Razak counters with a nice double leg into side control. Murugan won't be happy with that.

Razak is looking to take a break and control but Murugan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Razak wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Murugan, who protects the arm well.

Razak sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Murugan is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Murugan looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Murugan avoids the attempt from Razak to control.
Murugan wants to control the pace but Razak is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Navin Murugan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Razak wants to stand but Murugan is controlling his arm.

Razak takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Razak gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Murugan controlling well, preventing Razak from escaping the position.
Navin Murugan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Razak looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Razak looking very determined here, making life difficult for Murugan.
Murugan lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Razak hold on?!

Murugan has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Razak has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Murugan is trying to stick to Razak's back but Razak is turning into Murugan. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Murugan's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Razak.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Navin Murugan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Murugan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
