Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jodi Joe Fjera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sangram Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jodi Joe Fjera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 45 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sangram Singh! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fjera falls off balance throwing a combination
and Singh counters with a shoot takedown. Fjera fights it but they end up in guard. Fjera seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Singh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fjera has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Singh has managed to get both his arms back between Fjera's legs - danger averted. Singh is working Fjera over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Fjera is pulling down on Singh's head to control his posture. Nice move.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Singh can do anything to dispel that myth. Singh is defending against the submission attempts here by Fjera.

Singh is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fjera is just riding it out for now. Singh eventually gives up the hold. Fjera is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fjera is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Singh defends well. Sangram Singh has got the better of the ground game so far. Singh stopping the sweep attempt from Fjera. Fjera is looking to stand back up but Singh counters by passing into half guard. Singh throwing strikes but missing. Singh loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Fjera doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Fjera is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Singh is aware though and is defending well. Fjera pulls Singh in close to prevent any damage.

Singh stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Fjera has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Singh manages to get his head free but now Fjera has transitioned to an armbar! Singh grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Fjera! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
