Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Adder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dominic Walker! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Walker as Adder shoots in. Walker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Walker wants it to stay on the feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Adder looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Walker wants to counter with a clinch but Adder pushes him away. Walker scores with a three punch combo!
Adder looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walker is doing well to control the position and prevent Adder from advancing to side control. Adder is looking for a kimura but Walker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Adder to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker is positioning himself well to prevent Adder advancing to mount. Adder looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Adder wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walker keeps working. Adder is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Adder is thwarting Walker's attempts to control the position. Walker won't allow Adder to pass to mount. Walker trying to control here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Adder prevents Walker from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Adder is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Adder wants to take Walker's back here but Walker is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Adder is stalling here but it's allowed Walker to get half guard.
Adder is looking for a kimura but Walker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Adder to get the leverage. Adder prevents Walker from standing back up.
Adder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Walker is just riding it out for now. Adder eventually gives up the hold. Adder is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Walker defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Adder is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walker sees it coming and defends easily. Adder is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Adder is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Walker as he works his way to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Adder dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Walker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Adder crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Walker - the referee stops the clock and Adder gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Walker. Adder manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Adder fails with the takedown and Walker counters with a left and a right that stings Adder. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walker misses with a kick to the body.
Adder closes the distance and pushes Walker back into the cage. Adder manages to pull guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker slips nicely into half guard. Adder trying to control from the bottom.
Adder with the active half guard here but Walker passes nicely into side control. Adder is not content to let Walker control the position. Adder on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Walker lands a decent elbow from side control. Adder gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Walker trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Walker is working for a kimura but Adder is defending it quite comfortably.
Adder wants to get back to full guard. John Adder overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Walker not landing any meaningful shots this time. Adder is trying to get back to full guard. Walker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Adder. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Walker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Adder trying to control from the bottom.
Walker wants to stand up but Adder manages to regain full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adder looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walker is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Adder has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Walker is looking to defend but Adder has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Walker! Adder pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Walker taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). John Adder!
