Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lesley Chow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danilo Gentili! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gentili feints and as Chow raises his hands in defense, Gentili changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Gentili looking to pass the guard. Gentili content to stall in guard here. Gentili must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gentili trying to control the position from guard on top but Chow is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chow lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Chow trying to control but Gentili is working from the bottom. Gentili looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gentili is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gentili looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gentili has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chow can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chow drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chow jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Gentili looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Chow passes into side control.
Gentili looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Chow lands some shots froms side control. Chow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gentili keeps working. Chow tries for a kimura but Gentili is defending well. Chow definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gentili is looking to reverse the position. Gentili really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chow trying to control the position but Gentili is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chow has hold of Gentili's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Gentili seems comfortable defending it but Chow has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Gentili is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Gentili is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Chow couldn't care less - he's delighted!
