Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zelg Galesic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Edson Ribeiro! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Galesic forces Ribeiro back against the cage and clinches. Ribeiro pulls Galesic into guard.

Ribeiro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Galesic is aware though and is defending well. Galesic controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ribeiro steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Galesic. Galesic shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ribeiro pinned against the cage. Ribeiro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Galesic will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ribeiro swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Ribeiro looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Galesic throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ribeiro tries to score with a low kick but Galesic moves his leg out of the way.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Galesic is working for takedown but Ribeiro is calmly controlling the position for now. Galesic wants a takedown but no success here.

Ribeiro wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Galesic shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Edson Ribeiro has got the better of the ground game so far. Galesic is just content to waste time from the top position. Ribeiro takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Ribeiro is trying to control the position from the bottom.
