The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Carpenter - that will leave a mark!
Watanabe misses with a takedown attempt
and Carpenter counters with a straight right hand.
Watanabe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carpenter tries to avoid it but Watanabe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carpenter to the ground. Carpenter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Watanabe has a takedown stuffed.
Ben Carpenter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hayato Watanabe.
Carpenter connects with a nice looking jab.
Carpenter sizes up Watanabe with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Watanabe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Hayato Watanabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carpenter lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Watanabe falls backwards - clearly groggy! Carpenter dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
