PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dream Panda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and En Esch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Esch has chosen Imperial March (L.O.D. Rage Mix) as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dream Panda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, En Esch!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esch tries to clinch up.
Esch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Esch fails with an attempt to clinch.
Esch tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Panda manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Esch wants to clinch up but Panda keeps it at a distance.
Esch doesn't manage to clinch there - Panda circles away.

Panda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Esch is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Panda dives into side control.

Esch wants to get back to his feet but Panda drags him back down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Panda looking to control but instead Esch has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Panda thows a huge punch but Esch dodges it nicely.

Panda content to control rather than advance.
Panda is looking to take a break and control but Esch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Panda with the ground and pound but Esch uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Panda prevents Esch from getting back to his feet.
Panda has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Esch is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Esch keeping moving, preventing Panda from controlling successfully.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Esch wants to stand up but Panda is controlling him.
Panda wants to stand but Esch has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Panda throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Esch steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Panda.
Panda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Esch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Panda swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Panda throws a big counter combination but Esch scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Esch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Esch tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Panda paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Panda instigates a clinch.
Panda wants to get back to striking at distance but Esch won't allow it.
Esch lands a damaging elbow.

Panda pulls guard effortlessly.

Panda uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Panda has managed to clinch.
Esch misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Panda.
Panda blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Panda has hold of one of Esch's legs. Esch is fighting the takedown attempt but Panda gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Esch is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Panda presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Panda takes an elbow to the temple.
Esch has Panda pressed against the cage, preventing Panda from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Panda has picked Esch up - he's going for a ride! Panda dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Panda is looking for a kimura here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Panda scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Still in half guard, Panda seems content to control.
Esch tries to kick Panda off but Panda keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Panda is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Esch!

Panda is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dream Panda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Well, if Panda is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Panda seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Esch for as long as he can get away with.

Panda is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Esch doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Panda.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Panda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Esch keeps working.

Esch gets tackled into the cage by Panda. Panda maintains the clinch.

Panda is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Panda on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Panda tries to get out of the position.

Panda stops Esch from getting back to his feet.
Panda thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Esch's head.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Esch wants to clinch up but Panda keeps it at a distance.

Panda has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
En Esch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Panda seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

En Esch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Panda has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
