Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alfonso Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrese Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alfonso Torres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyrese Battle!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Torres shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Battle is trying to defend but Torres finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Battle trying to control here.
Torres looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Torres seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Battle for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Battle looking for submissions off his back.
Torres seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Battle controlling the position well.
Battle trying to control from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Battle defending well as Torres loads up on a big left hand.
Torres sets himself, and Battle steps forward looking for the clinch! Torres avoids it this time.

Battle fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Torres sprawls well initially but Battle persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Torres is trying to maintain the position but Battle is very close to passing his half guard.
Battle looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Torres is trying to get back to full guard.
Torres misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Torres has one foot on Battle's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Battle shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Torres manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Torres looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Torres bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Battle's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Battle being controlled here, momentarily.
Torres trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Torres stops Battle from standing up.
Torres won't allow Battle to sweep him here.

Battle looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Torres has picked Battle up and slammed him! Battle can't keep hold of the triangle and Torres manages to pass to side control!
Battle is looking for a sweep.

Torres tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Battle is trying to get back to half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alfonso Torres dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Battle shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Torres scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Torres tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Torres throws a sloppy head kick and Battle moves out of range easily.
Battle throws a right and a left that both miss.
Battle doesn't manage to clinch there - Torres circles away.
Torres throws a big counter combination but Battle scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Battle looking to score a takedown here. Torres is defending well but Battle drives through and ends up in Torres's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Battle wants to control from the top but Torres keeps moving.
Battle trying to stand up but can't free himself from Torres's guard.

Torres looking for subs off his back but Battle has passed one foot through into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Torres misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Battle is working for a kimura but Torres is defending it quite comfortably.
Torres moves into full guard.
Torres controls Battle momentarily but Battle frees himself.

Torres working for a triangle but Battle defends it easily.
Torres is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Torres looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Battle has picked Torres up and slammed him! Torres can't keep hold of the triangle and Battle manages to pass to side control!
You can see the frustration on Torres's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Battle is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Battle wants to control from the top but Torres keeps moving.
Torres is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Torres has his foot on Battle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Battle works his way back into a safe position though.
Torres is striking from the bottom but Battle uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Battle stands up and beckons Torres to join him on the feet.
Torres pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Torres misses with a head kick.

Battle shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Battle showed some decent athleticism there.

Torres is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Battle pulls his head out easily.
Torres wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Battle seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Battle works his foot free and advances to mount.
Torres is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyrese Battle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Battle feints and as Torres raises his hands in defense, Battle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Battle makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Torres is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Tyrese Battle has got the better of the ground game so far.
Torres is adopting a defensive guard.

Battle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Torres not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Torres throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Battle escapes and throws Torres's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Torres is not content to let Battle control the position.

Battle stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Torres gets caught napping as Battle dives in and scores a takedown. Torres manages to retain guard.
Torres is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Battle is controlling him.
Torres wants to sweep here but Battle controlling him for the moment.
Battle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Torres keeping full guard, as Battle tries to pass.

Battle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Battle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Torres has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Battle has managed to get both his arms back between Torres's legs - danger averted.
Battle trying to control the position from guard on top but Torres is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Torres wants to sweep here but Battle controlling him for the moment.
Battle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Torres is keeping the position for now.

Torres working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Battle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Battle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Torres is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Battle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Battle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Torres isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Battle stacks Torres on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Battle!
Battle trying to control the action but Torres is working from the bottom.

Battle decides to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Torres throws a sloppy head kick and Battle moves out of range easily.

Battle shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Torres napping and manages to drive through into side control!

And that's the end of the fight!
Tyrese Battle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Battle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
