Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fritz Hobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danial Assad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danial Assad has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fritz Hobbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danial Assad! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Assad throws a right and a left that both miss. A combination from Assad does no damage. Assad lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hobbs circles away quickly and effectively. Hobbs ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hobbs throws a quick counter kick to the body but Assad avoids it. Assad works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Assad misses with a hook
and Hobbs makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Assad connects with a looping right hand.
Assad jabs Hobbs right on the nose. Hobbs blinks but takes it well. A low kick from Assad is predictable there and Hobbs counters with a solid body kick. Assad gets a clinch. Assad throws an elbow that misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Assad throws an elbow but it's blocked.
That's one minute gone in the round. Assad wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Assad missing with knees to the body.
Hobbs gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hobbs stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Assad looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Assad tries to keep at a distance but Hobbs has taken the fight into the clinch. Hobbs jumps guard and drags Assad to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hobbs looking for a guillotine here but Assad defends easily.
Hobbs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Assad throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hobbs works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hobbs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hobbs is pulling down on Assad's head. It's preventing any offense from Assad, at least for the moment. Assad trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hobbs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Assad preventing the sweep. Hobbs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Assad is aware though and is defending well. Assad missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assad preventing the sweep. Hobbs uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Assad moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Hobbs clinches up with Assad and pushes him back against the cage. Hobbs keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Assad's efforts to push away. Hobbs is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Hobbs gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Hobbs is standing up over Assad. Assad looks to escape but Hobbs dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action! Hobbs has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Hobbs has closed the distance and engaged Assad in a clinch.
Assad wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hobbs wants the takedown. Assad is fighting it off but Hobbs persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Assad's guard against the cage. Assad is looking to sweep but instead, Hobbs has passed into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Fritz Hobbs will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hobbs. Assad throws the left hand but Hobbs avoids the punch easily. Assad thows a left - swing and a miss! Hobbs is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Danial Assad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Assad rushes Hobbs with punches - Hobbs moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Hobbs goes down! Assad follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
