Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tito Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tito Duran ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 19 - 1, fighting out of London, Jose Mera! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mera misses with a takedown enabling Duran to counter with a crisp jab. Duran takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Mera fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Duran avoids it really well and circles away. Mera feints and as Duran raises his hands in defense, Mera changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Duran is trying to control the position but Mera postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Duran has Mera pulled in close to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mera trying to control but Duran is working from the bottom. Duran not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mera thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mera wants to control from the top but Duran keeps moving. Mera throws a big elbow that misses. Mera is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Duran pulls Mera in to control the position. Mera looking to pass the guard. Duran bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mera's guard. Duran wants to stand but Mera has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Mera is looking for a triangle but Duran pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mera working for a triangle but Duran defends it easily.
Duran is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Rabid Dog that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Mera looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Duran passes into half guard.

Duran stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mera changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Duran tries to avoid it but Mera manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Duran to the ground. Duran escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tito Duran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Mera. Duran closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mera wants a takedown.
Duran manages to break the clinch.
Duran closes the distance and pushes Mera back into the cage. Duran pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mera darts in trying to clinch and Duran counters with a lovely shot to the body. Duran drives through and clinches with Mera against the cage.
Mera has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Duran is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Mera tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mera gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Duran regains guard.
Duran looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mera is one step ahead there. Mera wants to control from the top but Duran keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mera looking to sit in guard and control but Duran gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mera is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Duran is aware though and is defending well. Duran wants to get up but he can't break Mera's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Duran has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Duran stands up from guard. Let's bang! Mera clinches up with Duran and pushes him back against the cage. Mera breaks the clinch.
Duran moves into the clinch. Mera wants to take the fight to the mat but Duran manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Mera has Duran pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mera pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Duran tumbling to the mat - Mera dives into Duran 's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tito Duran will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mera manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Duran on his heels. He'll look to pass Duran 's guard now, I'm sure. Mera with a nice head shot there. Duran is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mera wants to pass the guard but Duran is keeping the position. Mera thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mera with a flurry of punches that miss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mera wants to pass the guard but Duran is keeping the position. Duran is pulling down on Mera's head. It's preventing any offense from Mera, at least for the moment. Mera trying to control but Duran is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mera drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mera jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mera drops back looking for a leg! Duran is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Duran manages to kick Mera off! Mera jumps back into Duran 's guard. Duran keeping full guard, as Mera tries to pass. Mera drops back, looking for a kneebar! Duran looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Duran looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Duran ! Mera looks to move to half guard but instead Duran has passed into mount! Damn!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duran stands up from mount. Strange move. Mera has closed the distance and engaged Duran in a clinch.
Mera swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mera softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Duran escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mera throws an off balance right hand
and Duran counters with a left to the body. Duran rushes Mera and presses him up against the cage. Mera wants to take the fight to the mat but Duran manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Duran manages to break the clinch.
Duran lands a head kick!
Jose Mera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mera drives through and clinches with Duran against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mera throws a punch but it's blocked by Duran . Mera goes for a takedown in the clinch but Duran prevents it.

Mera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mera misses with a shot to the body and Duran counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Tito Duran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Duran moves into the clinch. Mera has Duran pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mera pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Duran tumbling to the mat - Mera dives into Duran 's guard. Mera preventing the sweep. Mera drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Duran dives on top into guard.
Duran stands up and waves to Mera to follow him. Duran lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mera gets tackled into the cage by Duran . Duran maintains the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Duran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Duran has taken the fight to the clinch.
Duran blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mera is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Duran gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Tito Duran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Mera. Mera drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Duran breaks from the clinch.
No luck for Mera with that takedown attempt. Mera with a poor takedown and Duran counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Duran moves into range and clinches up with Mera. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tito Duran dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Mera shoots in and gets a takedown into Duran 's guard. Mera drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Duran manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mera has Duran in his guard.

Mera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duran pinned against the cage. Duran gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mera takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mera shoots in for a double leg but Duran sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Duran was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Tito Duran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Mera. Mera throws a right hand that Duran ducks under and follows up with a left that Duran also avoids with ease. Mera tries to close the distance and clinch but Duran swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Duran tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mera is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Duran closes the distance and clinches. Duran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mera tries to keep at a distance but Duran has taken the fight into the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Mera fails to land. Mera misses with the head strike.

Mera tries to pass the half guard into mount. Duran knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Duran has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mera is working away from the top position though. Mera is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Duran as he works his way to full guard.

and Duran counters with a straight right hand. Mera closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duran circles away. Mera misses with a body punch
and Duran counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Duran clobbers Mera with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Mera tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Duran swivels and escapes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duran moves into the clinch. Duran breaks from the clinch.
Mera shoots in for a double leg but Duran sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. It looked like Duran wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. The fight moves into the clinch position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mera drops down looking for an ankle pick but Duran pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tito Duran is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Duran scores with a hook to the body. Mera takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Duran pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mera is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Mera moves in looking to clinch but Duran pushes him off. Mera throws a lazy uppercut
and Duran counters with a good low kick that Mera was not able to check. No luck for Mera with that takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Tito Duran showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Duran , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
