The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferrell gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Haley is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Ferrell tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ferrell tries for a takedown but Haley manages to get underhooks.
Rogelio Haley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Troy Ferrell.

Haley has clasped his hands together around Ferrell's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Haley is trying to get an arm triangle but Ferrell is defending well.
Ferrell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Haley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Haley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Haley is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ferrell's shoulder. That is not cool.
Ferrell is looking for a sweep.
Ferrell is trying to control Haley's posture but Haley avoids it.

Haley looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Haley lands an elbow.
Haley in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Haley has hold of Ferrell's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ferrell tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Haley cranks the arm and Ferrell screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ferrell, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
