Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jody Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Beeker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jody Alvarez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Beeker! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beeker checks the leg kick. Beeker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alvarez moves out of range of the body kick from Beeker.
Beeker takes the fight into the clinch. Alvarez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Beeker gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Beeker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alvarez doesn't manage to clinch there - Beeker circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beeker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Alvarez counters with a straight right hand. Beeker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Beeker is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beeker's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Alvarez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Beeker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Beeker is stalling in the full guard. Alvarez working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Beeker has passed into half guard!
Alvarez looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Alvarez won't allow Beeker to pass to mount. Beeker is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Beeker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Alvarez wants to get back to his feet.
Beeker trying to pass the guard but Alvarez defending well. Beeker is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Alvarez sees it coming and defends easily. Alvarez really is a fat lump.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beeker wants to free his trapped foot but Alvarez is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Beeker scoring with strikes to the body and head. Beeker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Alvarez is looking to control Beeker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Alvarez avoid being mounted? Beeker stalling. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Alvarez is looking to escape.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beeker paws at him with a jab and circles away. Beeker throws a series of punches but Alvarez moves out of range. Beeker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Alvarez is trying to defend but Beeker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Beeker trying to control the pace. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Beeker lands with a punch from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Beeker dominated that round. That's time! Alvarez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Alvarez gets a clinch. Alvarez fails to pull guard.
Beeker has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Alvarez is trying to pull guard but Beeker has him pressed against the cage. Beeker pulls Alvarez into guard.
Beeker striking off his back but it's not causing Alvarez any problems. Alvarez preventing the sweep. Beeker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Alvarez trying to control but Beeker is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Beeker holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alvarez stopping the sweep attempt from Beeker.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jody Alvarez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Alvarez fails in his attempt to clinch. Alvarez instigates a clinch. Beeker has Alvarez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Beeker pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Alvarez tumbling to the mat - Beeker dives into Alvarez's guard. Beeker is standing up over Alvarez. Alvarez looks to escape but Beeker dives into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beeker working the ground and pound. Beeker is working Alvarez over with some ground and pound from side control. Alvarez is being controlled here. Beeker tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Alvarez wants to get back to his feet. Beeker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Beeker just content to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryan Beeker has got the better of the ground game so far. Beeker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beeker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Beeker wants to stand but Alvarez is controlling his arm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Beeker taking a breather here. Beeker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Beeker tries to move to mount but Alvarez blocks the move with his legs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Beeker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Beeker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Alvarez wants to stand back up but Beeker manages to pass into side control.
Beeker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's one minute gone in the round. Beeker decides to stand up, so the ref orders Alvarez to his feet. Alvarez wants to clinch up but Beeker keeps it at a distance. Beeker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Beeker lands in his opponent's guard. Beeker showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Alvarez wants to stand but Beeker is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvarez looking for a guillotine here but Beeker defends easily.
Beeker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alvarez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Alvarez is wriggling around but Beeker manages to pass to half guard.
Beeker is taking a breather. Alvarez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez is trying to stand.
Alvarez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Alvarez looking for a kimura from the bottom but Beeker passes into side control! Beeker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alvarez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Alvarez throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Beeker scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Alvarez to see if he's OK. Beeker controls the position. Alvarez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Beeker presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Alvarez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Beeker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jody Alvarez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ryan Beeker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Beeker lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryan Beeker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Beeker winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
