The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripellas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ripellas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Americo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ripellas wants to clinch up but Americo keeps it at a distance.
Ripellas doesn't manage to clinch there - Americo circles away.
Americo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ripellas wants to clinch.
Ripellas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Americo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Americo drives through and clinches with Ripellas against the cage.
Americo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ripellas throws an elbow but it's blocked.

With the fighters up against the cage, Ripellas throws an elbow but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Americo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ripellas wants to clinch up but Americo keeps it at a distance.

and Americo counters with a shoot takedown. Ripellas fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Americo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Americo is sitting in close to Ripellas's body. Ripellas has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Americo is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Americo is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Ripellas.
