The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bones lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Marquan Weatherspoon has been cut.
Bones misses with a series of wild punches.
Weatherspoon goes for a double leg but Bones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bones continues to drive forward.
Weatherspoon lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bones backs up against the cage.
It looks like Jon Bones has been cut.
Weatherspoon rushes Bones and presses him up against the cage.
Weatherspoon takes an elbow to the temple.
Weatherspoon blocks the elbow strike.
Bones will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Weatherspoon up against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Weatherspoon.
Weatherspoon pulls guard successfully.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Weatherspoon tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Weatherspoon will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Weatherspoon wants to stand and escape but Bones is having none of it.

Weatherspoon controls Bones momentarily but Bones frees himself.
Weatherspoon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
